As a Security Guard, You Will:
Patrol the hotel interior and exterior, including stairwells, parking areas, and public spaces.
Monitor property for unsafe conditions, suspicious behavior, or policy violations.
Respond to emergencies and disturbances quickly and appropriately.
Communicate clearly via two-way radio, telephone, or in-person with team members and authorities.
Assist guests and team members with lockouts, escorts, or safety concerns.
Enforce hotel policies and local laws while maintaining a respectful and calm demeanor.
Document incidents, accidents, or complaints in detailed, accurate reports.
Receive, catalog, and manage lost and found items; respond to inquiries about missing property.
Maintain awareness of all life safety systems (alarms, extinguishers, pull stations, etc.).
Support other departments, such as Front Desk or Engineering, during emergencies or special events.
Essential Job Functions
Spend most of your shift on foot, patrolling all areas of the property.
Respond swiftly to alarms or emergencies and assist with evacuations if needed.
Use CPR or other emergency techniques when necessary.
Answer emergency calls and guest safety inquiries clearly and professionally.
Monitor security cameras and report unusual activity.
Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
Uphold all safety and security procedures and standards of appearance.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExperience & Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of security, loss prevention, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and TIPS certifications required (or must be obtained upon hire).
Skills:
Familiarity with hotel layout, including guest room floors, exits, and emergency equipment.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively resolve conflicts.
Strong written and verbal communication in English required; bilingual a plus.
Proficient in using security equipment, computers, and communication tools.
Able to follow and give clear instructions and accurately complete documentation.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for long periods.
Capable of climbing stairs and ladders in emergencies.
Frequent bending, kneeling, and movement between hotel areas.
Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and assist in emergency situations.
Sufficient vision and hearing to recognize signs of distress or unusual activity.
