Embassy Suites by Hilton Paradise Valley is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cook to join our culinary team. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality dining experiences by preparing and plating menu items to Hilton standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
What You Will Be Doing
Prep, prepare, and plate menu items according to established recipes and menu specifications
Prepare all broiled and sautéed food items as specified on guest checks to ensure product consistency
Transport and handle heavy food products as needed
Visually inspect, select, and use only the highest-quality food items
Ensure proper storage of products, including portion control and correct cuts of meat
Maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigeration units, equipment, storage, and work areas in compliance with health department regulations
Maintain required logs, including cooling, heating, and temperature records
Assist other kitchen personnel as needed
Perform related duties as requested by managementKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations
Strong understanding of sanitation and food safety standards
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, and related tools
Ability to read and follow written product labeling and preparation instructionsPhysical Demands
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to 100 lbs
Manual dexterity to safely and effectively use kitchen tools and equipment
Ability to work in extreme temperature ranges (hot and cold)
Ability to work in confined kitchen spaces

- Prepares daily preparation lists for production.
- Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes.
- Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest check, to ensure consistency of product; requires transportation of heavy food products.
- Visually inspects, selects, and uses only food items of the highest standard in the preparation of all menu items.
- Checks and controls the proper storage of product, checking on portion control, especially in specific cuts of meat, to maintain quality product.
- Keeps all refrigeration, equipment, and storage and working areas in clean, working condition in order to comply with health department regulations.
- Maintain all logs, cooling, heating, and temperature.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Utilizes protective equipment.
- Reports unsafe conditions to management.
- Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
- Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
- Perform any related duties as requested by management.
- Assists other Kitchen Personnel when need.
