Job Summary:

The Hotel Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the night shift, ensuring accurate financial reporting, guest satisfaction, and the smooth operation of the hotel. This role involves performing nightly audits, handling guest check-ins and check-outs, and addressing any issues that arise during the night.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Nightly Audits:

  • Perform end-of-day accounting procedures, including reconciling guest accounts and financial transactions.
  • Generate and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

2. Guest Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests during the night shift.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs, addressing any concerns or requests.

3. Operational Oversight:

  • Monitor hotel security and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints and issues in a timely manner.

4. Communication:

  • Communicate with the day shift staff to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and information.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping to address any overnight issues.

5. Administrative Duties:

  • Complete nightly reports, including occupancy, revenue, and incident logs.
  • Ensure the front desk area is clean and organized.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or similar role, with basic accounting knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and handle a high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.

Retro Hospitality has partnered with a group of visionary developers to open the the historic Hotel Petersburg located in downtown Petersburg, Virginia. Closed since 1969 when a fire destroyed the fourth and fifth floors, the development team is working on a top to bottom renovation to bring the property back to life. This upscale boutique hotel will include 64 rooms, street-level dining, a bar, banquet facilities, and an outdoor courtyard. Following the renovation the hotel will highlight the ground floor’s extensive marble work, decorative plaster molding, and coffered ceilings.
