JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Housekeeping Housepersons, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel's standards. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Verify room status on A.M. report; report discrepant rooms; prioritize and update check-out rooms.
- Ensure that assigned staff have reported working; document any late or absent team member.
- Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
- Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
- Assign designed guest room keys. Maintain accurate records of such and ensure the security of keys.
- Communicate additions or changes to assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
- Inspect the supply level of floor closets. Assign designated personnel to rectify any deficiencies.
- Check Room Attendant's carts for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness, and mechanical problems.
- Inspect room cleaned by assigned Room Attendants, using designated checklist. Directly contact Room Attendant and relay any deficiencies to be corrected.
- Update room status after approving cleanliness and condition in accordance with departmental standards.
- Check vacant rooms, verify status, and update the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
- Check DND rooms and verify status.
- "Mark" dirty sheets of randomly selected assigned rooms and follow up to ensure the Room attendants have changed bed sheets. Counsel Room Attendants on any discrepancies.
- Complete work orders or Maintenance repairs and enter in Novola.
- Conduct training of staff as assigned.
- Complete all paperwork and closing duties.
- Review the status of assignments and any follow-up action with the manager and or on-coming supervisor.
- Assist in other areas of Housekeeping as assigned.
- Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training.
- Direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
- Must have a good understanding of the English Language.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Perform job functions with attention to detail.
- Prioritize and organize.
- Be a clean thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
- Follow directions thoroughly.
- Understand guests' needs.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
DESIRABLE:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Prior Supervisory experience preferably in a Hotel environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment
Pushing two hundred (200) pound carts
Lifting fifty (50) pounds maximum.
Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods
Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
