What you'll be doing... Essential Duties of Outlet operations

  • Assist with training and development of new team members, ensuring they have the tools and equipment to effectively carry out their job functions
  • Follow up on staff training to ensure levels of service are maintained
  • Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals
  • Conduct routine brand standard audits designed to ensure optimal service execution
  • Maintain a floor presence during needed meal periods to ensure optimal guest service and assist associates
  • Ensure the outlets are set and look to specifications before the start of a shift.
  • Learn the job responsibilities of opening and closing for the supervisor position, server position, bartender position and host position so you can ensure the proper process is being followed and you can hold the team accountable to those responsibilities.
  • Follow all cash, voids, comp and close out procedures and hold the team accountable to those procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with all other departments always ensuring a good line of communication with the front desk.
  • Ensure hotel guests or The Keep patrons are satisfied, and problems are resolved at the time they are presented.
  • Communicate via shift logs, e-mails, notes of the shift, any associate issues, payroll issues to management including members of the executive team.
  • Report to work on time and close or stay your full shift (unless approval by a manager to change schedule) and utilize the Kronos Time clock to punch in and out each shift.
  • Assist with labor management costs
  • Must be proficient in each area of the restaurant to assist when necessary
  • Acts with integrity and honesty while promoting the company culture
  • Follow inventory control procedures to reduce product loss
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant
  • Manage time effectively and meet all job responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive work environment for team members and guests

  • Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures

  • Communicate effectively with all staff members, including servers, bartenders, cooks, and dishwashers, as well as other departments within the hotel.

  • Communicate with guests, and resolve all guest issues that arise

  • Abides by all policies and guidelines by Hawkeye Hotels and brands

  • Ensure all staff have arrived and are in proper uniform

  • Performs all other duties assigned

What you'll be doing... Essential Duties of Banquet and Events

  • Coordinate food service between kitchen and banquet service staff & guests
  • In the absence of or in conjunction with the Food and Beverage Manager, oversee all aspects of a banquet or event, including set-up, menu selection and food presentation, serving, and cleanup
  • Make decisions in the best interests of the property and in comnpliance with all applicable policies and procedures
  • Approach all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintains constant communication with guests and on-site contact to ensure all expectations are me or exceeded
  • Remains alert of complaints and/or unsatisfied guests and responds appropriately to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Coordinates with other staff and departments to arrange for the delivery of requested services
  • Maintains constant contact with kitchen staff to ensure complete effective communication between food production and food service
  • Ensures all functions are set and staff is prepared and organized before required time on BEO
  • Inspects table place settings, including table linen, china, glass, silverware and condiments for correct placement and ensures that each element is clean, undamaged and attractive
  • Ensures proper setting of buffet tables and other food service tables
  • Arranges for and ensures proper sequence of service for each event
  • Supervises clearing and post function cleanup and garbage removal
  • Maintains clean and orderly back areas, pre-function areas and storage areas
  • Assures that all china, glassware, silverware, linen, etc. are returned to their proper locations after each event
  • Supervises the handling, storage, and security of all catering service equipment
  • Review and implement table and seating diagrams
  • Operate as banquet server during functions including set up, greeting, and serving guest assisting staff with breaking down of function
  • Assist with all reasonable bar back duties and control transfers with stock inventory
  • Set an example and adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards
  • Maintain critical standards for product quality, service speed, cleanliness and sanitation in front and back of house.
  • Manage all opening and closing side work and inspection duties
  • Ensure proper training on quality and service standards and have the tools & equipment to effectively carry out their job functions
  • Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals
  • Assist in pre-service and periodic training
  • Ensure the Captains Report / Daily Banquet Critique form is completed and turned in at the end of the night.
  • Assist Food & Beverage Manager in training staff when needed
  • Performs all other duties assigned

Knowledge/Experience

▪ High School Diploma or equivalent

▪ Previous waitress, waiter, or banquet server experience preferred

▪ Knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation is required

▪ Excellent customer service skills

Availability

▪ Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays 

Communication Skills o Ability to read, write, and speak professionally in English

▪ Professional communication with difficult people/situations

▪ Excellent oral communication and listening skills

Mathematical Skills

▪ Ability to add, subtract, multiply and, divide

▪ Possess problem solving skills, attention to detail and execute tasks flawlessly

Technical Skills

▪ Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

▪ Must complete training or certification required for the position

▪ Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
