About this job
As Director of Sales and Marketing, you’ll be the strategic architect behind Tempo’s revenue generation and market growth - blending creativity, data, and connection to drive results. You’ll lead with innovation, motivate your team, and partner across departments to deliver experiences that make every event, meeting, and stay distinctly “Louisville.”
What you’ll be doing
• Lead with vision: Develop and execute an inspired sales and marketing strategy that showcases Tempo’s modern lifestyle brand and community vibe
• Analyze and optimize: Use data and competitive intelligence to uncover trends, shape pricing, and position the hotel for success across segments
• Drive group and event business: Proactively source, negotiate, and close group, banquet, and catering opportunities that align with Tempo’s brand and profitability goals
• Inspire your team: Provide mentorship and coaching to build a collaborative, high-performing sales culture
• Showcase the experience: Conduct dynamic site tours that highlight Tempo’s rooftop bar, flexible event spaces, and curated culinary experiences
• Partner for success: Collaborate with operations, F&B, and revenue teams to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction from contract to celebration
• Champion relationships: Build meaningful client connections and community partnerships that turn first-time guests into lifelong advocates
• Elevate the brand: Promote Hilton Honors and leverage corporate partnerships to strengthen loyalty and visibility
Experience & Education
• Minimum 3 years of hotel sales experience with a proven record of success in banquets, catering, and group business
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, local partnerships, and event planning logistics
• Lifestyle or boutique hotel experience strongly preferred
Communication
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the confidence to influence and inspire
Mindset
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and people-driven - with a passion for bringing events and experiences to life
