What You’ll Do as Director of Sales & Marketing

As our Director of Sales & Marketing, you’ll lead the charge in driving top-line revenue by showcasing the unique value proposition of Embassy Suites. You'll energize your team, strengthen our position in the bustling Bloomington market, and ensure our guests experience the comfort and convenience that defines our brand. You'll be the connector—building relationships, identifying new business opportunities for our two-room suites and versatile event spaces, and delivering memorable guest experiences that keep clients coming back for our renowned complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and evening reception.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of Sales & Conference Services, effectively promoting our all-suite accommodations and meeting facilities.
  • Actively drive and grow key accounts, identifying and nurturing relationships with top clients to secure repeat business and expand our market presence for both our suites and event spaces
  • Take ownership of revenue performance across all segments, with direct accountability for specific market segments, understanding the unique needs of group, corporate, and leisure travelers who seek the Embassy Suites experience.
  • Craft and implement a strategic marketing plan that highlights our unique amenities (e.g., spacious suites, complimentary breakfast, evening reception, pool, fitness center) to drive measurable growth—even in evolving environments.
  • Build and execute successful group, corporate, and catering sales initiatives, leveraging our flexible event spaces and the allure of an all-suite hotel.
  • Inspire, motivate, and refocus a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and results that embodies the warm and welcoming spirit of Embassy Suites
  • Maintain close partnerships with the General Manager, revenue leaders, and Hilton Global Sales to align strategy and execution, ensuring we capitalize on brand-wide initiatives.
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and results that embodies the warm and welcoming spirit of Embassy Suites.
  • Represent the hotel at key industry events, trade shows, and in the local community to enhance visibility and credibility, showcasing the Embassy Suites difference.
  • Oversee social media and advertising campaigns to support brand positioning and engagement, effectively communicating our value to potential guests.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills:

  • Proven ability to create and execute profitable marketing and sales strategies that highlight unique hotel features.
  • Experience in hotel social media marketing and advertising, particularly for an all-suite or full-service property.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to adapt quickly based on performance metrics, driving revenue for all hotel segments.
  • Strong proficiency in Hilton systems (OnQ, PEP, Delphi preferred).
  • Demonstrated excellence in revenue management, pricing strategy, and market positioning for a competitive hotel product.

Leadership Skills:

  • Visionary leadership with the ability to motivate, train, and develop teams, inspiring them to champion the Embassy Suites brand.
  • Clear, persuasive communicator with strong decision-making abilities, capable of articulating the brand's unique selling points.
  • Confident in managing change and aligning teams with business goals, always with a focus on guest satisfaction and brand standards.
  • Passionate about service, hospitality, and team culture, specifically within a brand known for its welcoming environment.

Business Acumen:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Bloomington market with established local relationships, ready to identify new opportunities for our suites and meeting spaces.
  • History of exceeding revenue targets and driving business growth through strategic sales initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and client follow-up, ensuring every lead is maximized.
  • Ability to balance client needs with hotel profitability and owner expectations, optimizing the value proposition of Embassy Suites.

Education & Experience:

  • Preferred: BA/BS in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Required: Minimum 5 years of hotel sales leadership experience with a track record of success in group/corporate sales, social media marketing, and sales strategy, preferably within a full-service or all-suite hotel.
  • Active member of industry sales organizations is a plus.
