BASIC FUNCTION: The Sotherly Host (Concierge) will be the central information agent for Hotel guests providing information on local restaurants, activities, and group functions.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Two years of college education preferred but not required
• Extensive knowledge of local businesses, area attractions, and community events
• Pleasant phone demeanor, ability to communicate effectively
• Excellent attention to detail, flexible and adaptable to change
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Positive, outgoing and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality and strong leadership skills
• Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance in all situations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Handle all guest requests and questions in an efficient manner.
2. Be aware of all daily Hotel events, restaurant schedules, and daily functions.
3. Log all guest reservations and follow up with guests.
4. Set up and verify transportation to and from area attractions.
5. Be knowledgeable of local area and special events.
6. Coordinate guest activities and reservations both on and off site.
7. Keep all informative materials (brochures, menus, maps, and guides) stocked and well organized.
8. Attend pre-con meetings and perform special group presentations upon request.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist other departments as needed.

Indoor lobby setting, with a desk and phone. High visibility with constant guest contact.
