SUMMARY
The Golf Pro Shop Supervisor represents Willow Valley and ensures an exceptional guest experience by overseeing daily operations and team interactions. This role requires strong knowledge of golf operations and collaboration with the Course Superintendent to uphold high company standards while maintaining professionalism with team members and the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Provide superior service and products to attract and retain guests and members.
Recruit, train, and develop team members for efficient Pro Shop operations.
Organize staffing schedules for Pro Shop attendants.
Manage tee times and ensure smooth course flow for customers.
Address and resolve patron complaints swiftly and effectively.
Manage inventory and order supplies for the Pro Shop.
Ensures team is inspecting and stages golf carts daily.
Monitor weather conditions to keep the Pro Shop open year-round as conditions allow.
Coordinate with the Superintendent to plan and implement course maintenance activities, make decisions on course play, and schedule major repairs to ensure a well-maintained course.
Uphold company policies and ensure consistent service among team members.
Contribute to the annual operating budget and marketing plan.
Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
Communicate directly with customers regarding outings, tournaments, memberships, and events.
Share the company’s vision and goals with team members through regular meetings.
Foster a workplace where team members' ideas are valued and encouraged.
Analyze labor and maintenance costs to identify areas for improvement.
Due to seasonal needs within the Hospitality Industry, it may be necessary to adjust schedules to meet the demands of our business.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Pro Shop Team Members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPR certification preferred but will train
Safety Policies and Practices
The Team Member in this position is responsible for following Willow Valley’s safety policies and procedures, promoting safety, and identifying areas for improvement. The Team Member must be knowledgeable about and follow Willow Valley’s Safety Manual. The Team Member will be reviewed annually on workplace safety.
Computer Skills
General Computer Skills with experience using Word, Excel and Agilysys software.
Complexity & Judgment
Work requires performing routine tasks that are related. Problem solving occurs as a regular part of the job. Established practices and procedures are not always available to address all situations. Individual judgment is used on a regular basis.
Guest & Team Member Relations
This position interacts with Guest and Team Members on a regular basis dealing with routine matters.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member frequently is required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to sit. The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
The Golf Pro Shop Supervisor works in a vibrant outdoor setting, engaging with guests, team members, and various operational activities. This role involves regular exposure to diverse weather conditions, including sun, rain, and wind, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The environment can be bustling and noisy, especially during peak times with numerous guests and events. Supervisors oversee the use of golf carts and equipment, necessitating awareness of safety protocols around moving parts and potential hazards.
