The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will assist the Food and Beverage Manager in overseeing all facets of the department. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and beverage services, maintaining customer satisfaction, managing staff, and contributing to the financial success of the department. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a passion for the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Support:
    • Assist in the daily operations of the Food and Beverage department, including restaurants, bars, catering services, and room service.
    • Ensure all food and beverage outlets are properly staffed, stocked, and maintained.
    • Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction, addressing any issues promptly.
  2. Staff Management:
    • Supervise, train, and motivate food and beverage staff.
    • Assist in scheduling shifts and managing time-off requests.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
  3. Customer Service:
    • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided at all times.
    • Handle guest complaints and special requests in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Develop and maintain positive guest relations.
  4. Financial Management:
    • Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability.
    • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock audits.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of promotional strategies to boost sales.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices.
  6. Event Coordination:
    • Assist in planning and executing special events, banquets, and functions.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless event operations.
  7. Administrative Duties:
    • Assist in maintaining records, preparing reports, and managing paperwork.
    • Handle administrative tasks related to ordering, invoicing, and payroll.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
