BASIC PURPOSE:
To enhance the guest experience by engaging and greeting guests, escorting guests to tables, assisting servers with pre-bussing of tables and thanking guests upon departure to achieve quality service and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain stock and cleanliness of workstation, including storage rooms and kitchen.
- Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products.
- Assist in promptly clearing dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting.
- Be a brand ambassador for our Restaurant and Hotel: its people, its values, its ingredients and its success.
- Resolve guests concerns and be able to anticipate guest needs and take immediate corrective action to appease guests.
- Work as a team by assisting other team members as needed.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed.
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations.
- Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION: High School education or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year restaurant experience required. Hotel experience preferred, but not required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to respond with CARE to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience.
- Ability to work as a team and build positive relationships with team members through interactions and communication.
- Hold a current Food Handler Certificate.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
- Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
- Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
