The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Membership Supervisor to join the Team!  

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.  

The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in-room dining.

Classification: Full-Time

Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays. 

Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $25 per hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?

Offer assistance and information to Members and potential new Members by providing information about membership offerings, benefits, activities, spa services and other resort information, while meeting Forbes 5 Star and AAA 5 Diamond Standards.

  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with Members, guests, supervisors and subordinates.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed. 
  • High school or equivalent education required.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • One to two years in a guest contact position—private club, Membership, or other hospitality experience preferred. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for member inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Coordinate and assist with overseeing member onboarding processes, including welcome communications and orientation.
  • Must be able to stand at a desk for up to 8 hours per day.  Walking is required throughout the working day.
  • Generate reports on membership statistics, revenue, and engagement trends.
  • Requirements:
  • Will be in front of our Members and guests 100% of the time—with regular personal and telephone interactions.
  • Administrative duties to include supporting the Membership sales team in processing of new Members, renewals, cancellations, other changes or conversions to Membership status, and maintaining collateral and orientation documents.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate reporting of all revenue-generating and non-revenue generating Membership changes.
  • Answer questions regarding Membership benefits, and/or help promote resort amenities by making arrangements for dining, entertainment, sports events, recreation, health and beauty services, child care, and other services at the resort.  Answer questions concerning and/or giving directions to hotel facilities, meeting rooms, or events held therein. 
  • Assist with planning, promoting, and executing regular Member programming, including social events and events that introduce Membership to residents in our surrounding community.
  • Assist with maintaining Right Start program – with 30/60 day follow up for new Members to ensure satisfaction and engagement.
  • Maintain Club web site and work with resort department heads to create regular email newsletters to promote resort events, amenities, and news to Club Members.
  • Must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule, and adjust work hours to be available as needed for Member events, including occasional nights and/or weekend days.
  • Must maintain a professional and positive demeanor when interacting with Members and guests, and place the upmost priority on Member satisfaction, service, and responsiveness.
